Black and White Stripes

I don't don't think there's anything more classic than black and white.  I've noticed in the last few years that black and white horizontal striped walls are becoming quite the norm.  Although there is nothing wrong with those stripes I thought I would share some creative ways to change it up a bit to achieve a more unique and custom look.

A great way to change up the horizontal stripes is to turn them on the diagonal.

The large wide stripe on the island helps to play up the diagonal stripes on the floor.  I'm also madly in love with those barstools.  I would so have those in my house, minus the black strands of our dog's hair that would immediately adhere to them.  At least the black would match?

I'm a firm believer that if you're going to go for "it", you go for "IT".  As in, go big or go home. When you have a special place like the foyer, a nook or a bathroom, these are great places to really show some personality.

Another great way to show personality and bring some modern, yet classic design is to bring the stripes outside.  You'll win over all your guests with them, trust me.
