Greige Kitchens
Did you hear? Hear what you say? Grey is heading out. Maybe you've heard, or maybe you're just hearing this. But either way, you're probably stressing out a bit. But my whole house is grey, my kitchen is grey, what can I do?!! First, remember, there's always phases in design. Things come and go, but you can work with what you've got.
One big "new" trend, remember, things always cycle, is greige, or taupe kitchen cabinets. I remember watching Nate and Jeremiah by Design on TLC last year and they bought their new home, a 1928 Spanish Colonial, and were redoing it. They kept their kitchen's footprint, didn't even replace the cabinets, but painted them. The new griege paint color really popped the trim detail on the cabinet doors and also the new hardware. Again, it goes to show that painting something can really change the feel of a room or piece of furniture. Note, the age of Nate and Jeremiah's home, the color is a very historical color and will work fabulously with homes with character
I sure love a white kitchen, but now have the itch to paint. It might be time to get the boys' bathroom cabinet painted in taupe.
Thanks so much for reading!
