Classic & Typography Mosaic Floors
I feel like many times things in design are heard over and over again. But they're so true. I know I've said, what is old is new again. But it's so true. Same thing with fashion, keep it long enough it will come back in fashion. I think on the interior design front I think we're going to be seeing more and more mosaic floors. I know you know what I'm talking about, either you've seen it before in person, or have seen it on tv or in print. Think tiny mosaic tiles with your house or store's number either right outside your door or right as you step in. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't like these floors. They have character and remind you of times long ago. I adore the cracks, and dirty grout with stains, they tell a story.
VINTAGE FOYERS
So much character!!
Sometimes There's perfection in the non perfection.
You can never go wrong with black and navy. Now it's taken me some time to like the color combo, but I think breaking it up with a lot of white really helps this color combo.
Ok, this stopped me in my tracks. The typography with that gold band. I'm a sucker for black and gold. Attention to detail is a lost art form these days unfortunately. That is unless you've seen Sideshow Sign company's work.
The pharmacy I grew up with is a local place, Smith's, and this brings back great memories of when I was little. They deliver still to this day. And not just medicine, I know somone named "Mother" and she orders sodas to be delivered and they do it. "Mother", shhhhh, we're not talking about the time Smith's "gave" me nerds which were hidden up my catholic school sweatshirt to which "Mother" drove "me" back up there to tell them what "i'd" done and to return the candy. Then to offer to work for them to pay for the .56 candy. cue tears streaming down 8 year old "me".
Really though, I was a great child my parents say. If you haven't heard about the time my Dad made me knock on other parent's doors at 6 am on the weekend. Go look up my blog post "Seventeen".
a great reminder
such great font and pattern
of course you can't go wrong with John Lennon.
Imagine if you had this made for your wedding reception and of course it was a photo op. Then you had it installed in your foyer? How special would that be?
simplicity, yet high impact. how fun would this be if you had this in your foyer?
You don't see bright color often on the mosaic tiles, but I am loving this font and color combinations.
talk about a pick me up
i can't imagine how long this took to make.
Ohhhhhh this gold tile is speaking to me with the subtle pattern behind it.
why yes they do.
another great color combo with the walls and floor. the phrase is very light hearted and casual and works.
BATHROOMS
How unexpected and fun and playful would this be to have this in your residential bathroom? I'd be half tempted to put the word "aim" in front of the toilet because well, I have 2 boys and well.........
Ha Ha Ha
Thank you so much for reading! Think outside the box, make your home yours and not like everything you see on tv these days. Trust me, you'll be happy you did.
